Make hay while the sun shines

Lots of guests tell us how much the enjoy looking across our field from the pool. It’s a beautifully tranquil view with wild flowers filled with the sound of birds and grasshoppers. When I’m mowing the grass or cutting back the trees I often stop and stare for a few minutes.

As well as looking pretty, the field is a very productive source of hay for our local farmer who arrives every summer with his tractor. 

This year I caught the whole process on a sequence of video starting with the rain in spring, to cutting, drying and baling.
